Chalk this up to "role confusion". At some point, you need to shut down people giving you advice as a means of asserting your authority. There is a human tendency in all of us to listen but some people don't get the hint, that they barely are capable of handling their own responsibilities to be doling out advice. If they pipe up again, shift your attention away from them, wave them off and say "Let's get back to work". After a little while, pick some area its indisputable they're underperforming in and have a brief chat with them about it - don't permit them to excuse themselves from the conversation. Make your point and move on. After a few days, people will internalize their role and you will stop getting unsolicited advice.
Hi I'm Maurice, your underling from work. And you're doing Muttr all wrong. First of all you didn't capitalize. Second, you only became supervisor because Mr. Jacobs was transferred to the Denver office and chose your name out of a hat on his way out. Please improve in these areas.
