Just because I work as a checkout chick does NOT mean i'm uneducated! I'm by far incredibly more intelligent than half of you scum-bags who come in and patronize me!
Would you bother to learn that I'm well studied? No, because I'm only 19.. and bagging your groceries.
None of you old bastards seem to comprehend that it was a LOT easier to obtain work when you were young. Times have changed. It took me over (a literal) seventy job applications before I finally got an interview for one.

And what, is it because you're genuinely that lazy, or stupid:
That you can't unpack your own f***ing basket onto the conveyor belt?
That you can't swipe your own card or press your own buttons?

And to the man that came through my checkout the other day, and tried to scam me for an extra $20. f*** YOU. do you even realise when you do that to your cashier you're taking it straight out of their pocket? That they're the one that has to make up the difference in the till?

Seriously, f*** YOU ALL. You stupid, lazy, patronizing cunts.

But to those few customers who come through and actually have something between their ears, and treat us like people, like normal human beings who feel and strive for higher education.. Thankyou, you always make my day (:

When i was a cashier for a movie theatre, my boss(es) kept blaming me for being 20, 10, or 5 dollars short. Strange how it was always an even dollar bill (no change). After I left, I learned the boss was stealing from my register and blamed it on me. The guy had to pay a fine and was obviously fired. Id like to drop kick his teeth in.

One thing that has helped me deal with asshole customers over the years is to make up a little story that kind of explains why they are such a pain in the ass. Well, not really, but something that has happened that helps me feel compassion for them. For example, let's say that yesterday this woman was in your line, and was very impatient and snappy, maybe making snide remarks about stupid insignificant things. I would try to imagine that no one was going to spend Thanksgiving with her, the holiday so focused on food and family, and this woman would be spending it alone. Maybe her son is in Iraq, her husband just left her for his secretary in her 20s, maybe her dog just got run over. It sounds kind of dumb, but that's what has always stopped me from a) quitting the job that i worked so hard to get, or b) being fired for brutally assaulting customers. Good luck!
