can anyone help plz?! i am running a laptop with vista(sp2) and 2 days ago i discovered that i could not update windows defender, or vista itself. i get an error code "080072EFD". have scanned the entire system with various top anti-virus programs and they have all come-up 'clean'. i have made allows, through the firewall for both, and even tried turning off all other anti-virus while updating, but no success. the only thing i can come up with, is that it is a bios virus. pleas help!!!!!! anybody!!!!please!!!!!

Restart the BITS Service, it's located here:
Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services.
You'll find it, then just restart the service.
Set it to Automatic.
