Reasons why eBay sucks for sellers:

1. Not allowed to use anything but PayPal. eBay bought out PayPal, and in a bid to earn more revenue, is now forcing everyone to use it for all the payments. You get banned if you use WesternUnion, WireTransfer, or Money Order.

2. PayPal holds payments from eBay items for 21 days. Gives you a friendly message saying "ship your item, and once we know buyer has received it, we'll release your funds." Great, thank you PayPal for telling me how to do business. Who cares if I need that money now, I'll let you dictate when I get to use it.

If buyer leaves positive feedback, it un-holds your funds. But buyers don't have any incentive to do that. They're not the ones with their balls caught in a trap. So I have to bribe my buyers to leave positive feedback so I can get the money I was paid.

3. Ridiculous fees: eBay takes $5 from a $40 sale (12.5%). Then you have to pay PayPal another 2.75% for receiving the money from you. And since eBay owns PayPal, means they get paid twice for doing NOTHING.

4. Won't let me filter out s*** buyers. As a seller, I'm not allowed to say "I only want to accept bids/purchases from people who had an eBay account more than 3 months, or who have over 20 feedback, and >95% positive." The best I can do is filter out accounts that have a negative rating. Great, thanks a lot for giving me all this choice. And if one of those scammers purchases from me, and I cancel the sale because I don't trust new eBay users, I still have to pay the listing fee. What - a - joke.

5. Technically, won't allow the sale of electronic items (example: mmorpg game characters, mmorpg game items). Even though a major part of eBay users want to sell electronic items, and there is a huge community that is willing to buy those electronic items, eBay rejects this community. But at the same time, allowing it to happen. Meaning if there is a dispute, they will blame the seller for starting an auction.

Electronic items are the best item for eBay to sell because there is no shipping fee for customers, no duty fee, and because they are readily available. But no, they actually think I'm going to sell a computer or iPod on there, or something. Because I like getting half-rate offers for my items. Psht, I can go on Craigslist to sell that s*** -- where I get paid cash instantly, and no 12.5% listing fee. But eBay thinks I'm actually going to sell it there? Yeah right, wake up.

f*** eBay. I hope they die in a giant lawsuit.

What if you tried to give Ebay some competition? I'm not sure how to go about it,but maybe it would be worth looking into?

I wish I could "Show Love" infinity times on this one...

I used to run a small eBay dropshipping business and it was doing pretty well. Until eBay decided, after all of my products were already paid for, shipped and delivered, AND I was given POSITIVE FEEDBACK on them, to say my shipping prices weren't good enough and gave all my earned money back to everyone...this is when my shipping was based off of other competitor shipping prices, so they were the same if not lower, and those peoples products remained untouched! The only difference was those competitors were "power sellers" so apparently that gives them the right to do whatever they want and since I only had 35 feedback I could be bullied.

I have not done business with those scumbags since and will never EVER again. eBay is a bunch of CROOKS. Their fees and policies are bogus. Not to mention they have no clue who their true customers are. For whatever reason they feel the buyers are their customers, when in reality, it's the SELLERS.

One would think eBay would have figured this out by now...but they are just too stupid to get their shit straight.

Don't forget... Ebay is not getting paid "twice" for the $5 on $40 plus the paypal fee... they get paid a THIRD time by the damn Listing Fee! You did mention that, but you failed to mention that's 3 ways that ebay gets paid.

I'm going to be buying stuff on ebay pretty soon. Have been for a while, but I have a lot of shopping to get done for summer camping. I'll be buying stuff and I will never leave positive feedback on any of my items. This way, the sellers will have to pact against ebay in order to get their money. Leaving feedback is not my responsibilty for the seller to get paid. The checkout process is and it ends there.

Absolutely unacceptable EBAY! 100% Unacceptable.
