Cuz god doesnt exist...people used the term 'God' to explain things they didnt understand, like severe weather, geological happenings, diseases, evolution of life, existance of life, death, the universe itself. People still use god to explain things or sometimes just to give them some hope, like the death of loved ones. We all want to see our loved ones 'go with god.' We want to know they are not suffering after they die, but honestly people...theyre dead. Theres no souls, just a conscience...a reaction between atoms and molecules many people cant comprehend. Its hard to explain and understand things we can not examine using our 5 senses alone. Religion itslef used to be an answer when the commoner was as smart as a 6 yr old child living in todays standards. In addition, people who wrote the bible used those stories as a way to keep people in order. Understandably so considering there was little or no functioning government that enforced law. Religions excuse...lets make people fear doing consciensly wrong things in order to keep peace and order (then they realized how many people followed and began to try to make a profit out of it...which has been goin on for several thousand years...best business idea ever!) Religion now is nothing more than a tool if you will, to ensure that people do what they are told: behave, play nice, and give some 'tribute' to the place at which you are worshiping. I dont care if people believe in it, thats fine, but if you come to my door and try to convert me into whatever bologne you believe in, im gonna ask you to leave and if you dont, im gonna slam the door in your face. You can argue all day about religion. The fact of the matter is yes, its true that religion has been around since recorded history. Yes, everyone has their own beliefs including athiests. Has science proven God doesnt exist? No, but neither has anyone else. No one can prove he/she/it exists. And last I checked, the study of evolution has been banned in some christian schools in the US. Sounds sketchy to me when people dont teach things that contradicts their existance of god. However, Whose to say who is right or wrong? Vikings belived in god and an afterlife, Valhalla. Greeks believed in multiple gods, each with its own strength and weaknesses but controlled some sort of phenomenon or human like emotion. Zeus had lightning, Hades had the afterlife, Posioden had the oceans. Jews have their god, christians have their god, Islam has Allah, budhists have Buddha, etc., etc.,etc. All major religions have routs dating back to millenia ago. Even native americans practiced their own religion. SO in my opinion, he/she has a point. Whose to say there is a god if not only everyone believes in different things but people cant prove that it exists. Did you ever read up on Religion my dear? And i dont mean just christinity or judism or whatever religion you practice. Study religion as a whole. The catholics launched several crusades against the Holy land in Israel/palestine. The islamic peoples also launched their own form of crusade known as Jihad, and they are continuing their Jihad against western ideals. Ever heard of the inquisition? What about thousands of sacrifices in Aztec religion. How often does any religion remind people on the violence they caused in their history? Ill tell ya what, i was shocked to hear all the killings in the name of whatever God people believe in. What were saying is, the belief in a god is more or less than just a belief. With no one able to prove he exists and all this shit that comes from religion, im safely gonna say there is none either. To me, God is more of a personal thought or belief...in some people, god exists, in others...it doesnt. God is what you make it out to be. Personally I dont need to believe in something that isnt going to help me along the road. In the end, the only person or thing you can truly rely on is yourself.
