I dont care what anyone says, this country does NOT belong in Iraq. I dont care if were there to install a democracy to a people that suffered from a violent dictator for years. I dont care if were there to protect Iraqis from themselves or for terrorists. I dont care for the oil, or whatever the hell true reason were there for. The truth of the matter is, we are in a land that has governed themselves for thousands of years. Theyre people have been conquered, occupied, recaptured, etc. by numerous civilizations throughout the recorded history of mankind. And finally, the United States enters Iraq...twice...finally ends Saddam Hussein's tyranny, frees the people from a madman and then...tells them how to live their lives OUR way?!?! Big mistake Congress...BIG MISTAKE!
We liberated a nation and then tried to install a democracy, whether they wanted it or not. Even with all the freedoms democracy allows, its not right to go to another country and tell them what to do. This is not right people. We shouldve left after we liberated them. We shouldve went in, liberated the people from Saddam, kill or try Saddam for genocide, which they did, and immediately following, keep a US military presence long enough for the Iraqis to create their own emergency forces and military. But no, our politicians thought of a more 'brilliant' plan by doing the absolutely WRONG thing: not only keep a military presence until democracy worked, but stayed there to train and protect not only the Iraqis, but our interests over there as well. And what have we gained from it? A climbing casualty rate (4000+ by the end of this year), billions, maybe even trillions of dollars since 2001, escalating tensions between the surrounding countries, worst place in the world to be a democratic politician, and an increase in terrorist activity.

Its been almost 10 years since we liberated Iraq from a wannabe Hitler. TEN YEARS LATER and there arent many signs of leaving. There are good men and women dying over there 10 years after the war has ended. We lost more people there than in 9/11. Am I the only one outraged by these facts?! Though I support our troops and hope everyone currently serving there all come back home safe, i firmly believe we dont belong there. To the US CONGRESS AND US PRESIDENT: LET OUR TROOPS COME HOME!
