I absolutely hate power hungry people who love to just boss people around and be an ass to everyone. They shouldn't be put in a position like that. Especially when this is a fellow teammate. He's a captain (1 of 5) and always has to be the one to tell everyone what to do, even though we were just told by our coach.

Best way to deal with alpha types like this is not to confront them directly, since they excel in this sort of one upmanship, but to undercut him with others and develop a group strategy to ignore and eventually ridicule him. Try it.

Let me just say the above isn't easy. If it was, everyone would do it. Typically, some accmodationist d*ckhead sucks up to the alpha type, despite what people agreed on, and then everyone falls in line.
