I hate RIPTA !!! Sorry to its fans!
But, this is the second time I have had issues with this 'WONDERFUL' transportation service.

I bought this paper card called the 15 ride pass. Then I got on a bus that arrived at 3:11pm, which was 4 minutes earlier then it was suppose to come.

Apparently when you have the 15 ride pass a trip back is free. So the bus driver says do you want an outbound ticket "ITS FREE" i'm like "i guess".

So i get to my seat and look at the extra ticket I was given and I can only use this 'transfer ticket' its called until 5:11pm, meaning it expires in 2 hours.

Then I look at my paper bus scheduel there's a bus at 5:10, but it skips the stop that i need to get home.
The next bus is at 5:15 that does go home, but since my STUPID BUS arrived EARLY (3:11pm) instead of ON TIME (3:15pm) That bus ride home is no longer free!

ARE YOU SERIOUSLY RIPTA REALLY!!

Let this be a lesson to all of you its better to be ON TIME rather then late OR EVEN EARLY !!!!

Dude, it's two minutes. Do they electronically scan the transfer ticket, or do you just show it to the driver when you get on?

Here in Ottawa, we just show the ticket to the driver. It's such a fast process, they will rarely catch that it is expired. And if it expired a few minutes ago, I use it without a sweat. If the driver says anything, I just act like I didn't notice. "Oh, sorry. When did it expire -- 3 minutes ago? Well, can I use it anyway?" And they usually say, "yeah, that's OK".
