I love how we spend $680 billion every year on the military despite the fact that we have no credible enemies that could truly harm us. It's not like the days of the Cold War when we had the Soviet Union as our mortal enemy. (And if you think Iran and China's military credibly threaten us, you are truly brainwashed.)

If you pump them full of fear, they'll keep throwing their money at you.

I love watching Fox news for the simple fact that they're messages are typically as follows:
FEAR, FEAR, CONSUME, FEAR, cute little puppy, FEAR, FEAR, CONSUME, repeat...

So for example: if war breaks out between the two Koreas, we back the south, who backs the north? Pretty obvious to me why you pump money into your armed forces.

Better to be prepared for war than be caught with your pants down. Pearl Harbor anyone?

LOL @ Korean war. F*ck it. Why do we care who wins- doesn't effect us. Get your head out of your as* and stop looking at the US as the global policeman. Your myopic mindset is the problem.

I love how we spent nearly a trillion dollars on "economic stimulus" and didn't create or "save" a single net job, and we're all horrified that the rich might get to keep a little more of their own money for the next two years, and we're giving the unemployed another 13 MONTHS of free cash, and... well, I hate pretty much everything I hear about the federal government. Phase 1; identifying problem, complete. Now how do we address the problem?

$680 million for the military is well spend money. What we should be worry about is the money spend in programs where their are loophole to avoid tax by rich people. Broken programs that are not working but are there because of special interest group who is milking the tax payer. We need a smaller government. If we can balance the budget by cutting programs we don't need, we will be in the black again. The problem is we don't have enough people to tell our government to stop spending. When we lose our job, we cut back on entertainment spending or night out at the restaurant. But the government need many people to tell them to stop spending on programs that we don't need anymore. Most of these programs are started when we have lot of money. Hope we have the strong leader who will rally the people to stop the government spending soon.
