Jesus is God.
Every where you go on Earth, there's some kind of religion. So, us humans have some kind of internal need for God. God is perfect, He is love and goodness, and us humans have an internal strive for that. However, humans aren't perfect (due to our freewill, we are able to make choices, and often make the wrong ones). So the relationship between human and God was severed by this. There needed to be some kind of median, where our imperfections could be forgiven, could be erased, so that God's perfect love and goodness would be available to us. So, God gave us a gift. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16.
So that's why God sent Jesus. God the Father gave Jesus the authority of judgement. "I tell the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can only do what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does." John 5:19-20. Then Jesus goes on to say, "Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgement to the Son." John 5:22
God's way of creating this median for our salvation, (because obviously we can't do it on our own) was manifesting Himself into a man, so that He could share our sufferings, and ultimately free us from death. God's manifestation is known as Jesus. "I and the Father are one." John 10:30
There you go, all biblical information. :) God bless you all!
