Like I said in Post #2... Ask them about someone else that you think is better than you. Ask them if they'd be interested in someone like that. If they are, then there's the level you have to live up to. If they don't really care for someone like that, then you have a shot. But it's better to find out now if the person like you or not rather than wasting time and stress over this person.

That's the biggest thing I hated about my time in high school. I wasted SOOOO Much time worrying about whether or not they liked me. Instead, I assumed that if I liked them enough, then they would WANT to like me. So you just go for it. If they don't like you just as much right from the start, then don't bother. There's going to be PLLLENTY that come along your way. Seems like a long way off, but when you look back on now from then, this person probably won't even be in your memories.
