Just Vent | Just Venting

I've just realized that my mother, through my whole life, has been distant and unaffectionate. She doesn't hug me, or tell me that she loves me. She has been and is too focused on her love life. She and my step-father spend their days in comfort almost completely ignoring me. I know for a fact that she can't wait to get me out of the house. My real parents separated when I was 1 and I never got to know my dad for all that he was, but he was affectionate and truely cared about me. He died when I was 11 and he was the only person to show me love and affection. I feel so defeated but I know that if I can wait out the 4 years before I turn 18, that I'll find piece love and happiness somewhere, sometime, away from here.
