Just Vent | Just Venting

Parents are driving me completely crazy. It would be so much easier if I just shut them out. Whenever I keep them in the loop, they take over and lay down the law and make guidelines and rules for me. Guys....really, you aren't living my life for me, as much as you'd love to. You need to learn to be ok with the fact that I make most decisions in the way that you would like anyway, but I don't make them for your sake. And if I don't make decisions you like, that's my responsibility. I will not live my life as you would have me live it. That just isn't going to happen. I am not your robot. I am not your dog. I am not your doormat. I welcome your advice, but respectfully reject your control. Please learn the difference between the two. You're driving me crazy, and I'm trying so hard to love you both and respect your position as my parents by keeping you in the loop.
