you tell me i need to grow up, yet you never let me make my own decisions mistakes or anything. if you want me to "grow up" then you have to let go and let me "grow up" .

Sometimes parents really want the best for you, and they want you to grow up, but they don't want to trust you with that. They know what it's like to screw up their own situations, and they want to protect you from that. They really love you. My parents are the same way. Have patience with them--you'll get your freedom! It takes a long time to prove yourself to them--I've had to. I'm still not completely independent, but I'm getting there! Finally seeing an end in sight.
